Gloup

A blowhole or sea-jet, created by the partial collapse in the roof of a sea cave in a coastal cliff.

Etymology

Old Norse glup “throat”; akin to Norwegian dialect glūp “hole”, “gorge”, “abyss”

from the Norse word gluppa “a chasm” [S.R.]
